It does not need a lot of mental effort but at the same time it is not dull or monotonous... and the result is beautiful =)

This is the picture I am going to do colour today, you can virtually join for tea(I bake my own bread and scones ^^)
http://www.9coloringpages.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/free-adult-coloring-pages-9.jpgItinérantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469829291634641901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192580971664762668.post-2475300434164072012015-01-19T03:15:14.077+00:002015-01-19T03:15:14.077+00:00You could be bored or stressed... boredom being qu...You could be bored or stressed... boredom being quite stressful. Stress can bring on depression. Also, you are in the dark time of year, which can be depressing. Alcohol aggravates depression after a brief break, I have heard. I avoid alcohol out of a fear of alcoholism... seen rather too much of that, and other addictions.

I hear that therapy can be helpful. I have heard the same for the antidepressant medications. Neither were ever of much help to me, although I thought the therapy was entertaining. For me, stress management gave the best results. I found meditation helpful, along those lines. I benefited from a form of meditation called "tonglen". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonglen

However, it being non-Christian in origin, I think you would find it much too alien to endure. I suppose it might be possible to Christianize the practice, or, at least, omit any bits that conflict with Christian belief. Still, even adapted so, it might be too alien for you. I am neither Buddhist nor Christian, but I was able to make adaptations suitable to me, a staunch agnostic.

After about a year of the practice, I was free of depression, something that bothered me most of my life. Of course, one would not want to fall into a "post hoc propter hoc" type of error. There might not be a causal relationship. Still, I think the cultivation of compassion is what helped me most.

Depression may be one of those things for which one must find a personal solution. None of the common approaches ever helped me even in the slightest, and my depression was severe... quite agonizing and frequent and utterly resistant to medication.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192580971664762668.post-88965044641915658372015-01-17T20:59:06.058+00:002015-01-17T20:59:06.058+00:00It might be beneficial.
