High Mass video...

The Latin Mass Society have rearranged their website and I can't find the old High Mass video. Does anyone know what has become of it? It is interesting from a liturgical perspective. It was filmed at Bayswater in 1988, on a ''Green Sunday'' afternoon, using the rubrics of the Old Rite but without commemorations. I know many people in that video; the Deacon and Subdeacon, the MC and his assistant, at least one member of the ''liturgical choir'' etc. It heralds from a time when the LMS promoted something which had at least the semblance of Tradition.

  2. Gosh I haven't seen that in ages. I too know a number of people in the video. How interesting to see they keep the proper rubrics with everything pre-read etc...

  3. Going back in time a decade or so even earlier the LMS was very good indeed. Older friends have told me of some real gems that took place in the 1970s. Even a decade later, a couple of years before the featured video, a contemporary of mine saw folded chasubles for the first time at an LMS Ash Wednesday in Oxford.

  4. Rubricarius, the LMS can no longer seriously claim the title ''traditionalist'' can it? I'm sure the intentions of the founding members have been seriously betrayed by their sell out to 1962.

  5. Good Lord - that video brought back so many memories. The days of Sue Coote!
