Please, if you care one iota for liturgical tradition and the dignity of a Bishop in his diocese, I impore you NOT to sign this petition. It can only lead to more scandal, centralization and ultimately to the death of Liturgy in the Roman Church.
Patricius, if it is the loss of this in the Roman church that concerns you, I think it's fairly safe to say that the particular boat in question has already sailed.
Rubricarius, I hadn't noticed that, but I presume it was something like ''Introitus'' rather than ''Antiphona ad Introitum'' which gave it away?
Well ANDREW, I cannot speak for the erudite Fr Hunwicke, whose knowledge of Classics and Liturgy far exceed my own, and whose experience as a pastor of souls spans many times the length of my own years. But we may respectfully disagree with eachother. I respectfully disagree with my hero J.R.R Tolkien on one or two matters.

The pure irony is that the background picture is of a pre-1962 copy of the Missale Romanum.
ReplyDeleteSeems Fr. Hunwicke, whom you have praised numerous times on this blog, disagrees with you. How does that make you feel?
ReplyDeleteMichael, lamentably so.

But Andrew you have referred to John Hunwicke as 'Vicar Hunwicke' - surely what he says can have no relevance for you?
