Mossad...

Brother Nathanael offers an alternative view of the recent Paris attacks. One of the comments, from a Greek journalist, is interesting.

  1. The big question I have here is why would Israel think destroying Assad in favor of a bunch of radicalized Sunnis would be good for them. I think some of my more idiotic fellow Americans think so, because they think 'democracy' can somehow magically supersede Islamism.

    1. But ISIS seem not to want to attack Israel? For a supposedly radical "Islamist" death cult, or whatever hyperbolic and childish names we can give them, they don't seem to want to deliver where the damage might be welcome.

    2. Could be that they have a few strategists who are smarter than is commonly supposed. I have seen it suggested that they have a core of former Iraqi military leaders- the ones who worked for Saddam.

If they are serious about a caliphate, they need Mecca and Medina. Israel is probably on the list, but not the highest priority.

    3. George Woodford wrote a history of America many years ago, starting with Henry VIII of England. He said, and I paraphrase here, that most people don't want to think, they want to be governed by a thinker. Islamism is a cure for them, even if it is outwardly repugnant.

  2. Am I alone in finding something, well, strange about this fellow?

    1. No, you're not alone. Brother Nathanael (born Milton Kapner), might be a candidate for "self-hating Jew." He claims to be a member of ROCOR but I think they have disowned him and he was for a while a member of an Old Kalendrist Greek jurisdiction. He sings Christmass carols by the roadside in Colorado whilst waving a crucifix at motorists and I've heard that he was barred, or "excommunicated," from at least one Ashkenazi synagogue. His website is very vague about his regularity and even his purpose, how many members there are (if any) in his Foundation, and where the money goes from his sponsors. I don't, as a rule, donate money but I'd be interested to know how much money he makes by making these videos and running his website.

A strange character but he makes some very valid points, among them that the Orthodox Church teaches that the Antichrist will be a Jew.

  3. I think the poor soul has a few screws loose!
I wonder if he does more harm than good to the cause of Christ.

  4. Br. Nathaniel once years ago tried to cadge money from me. I didn't bite! And he's mostly a nut, and has been disavowed by most Orthodox, but here he makes quite a bit of sense, for once. But why is all that snow falling, but none on him? Must be a miracle in Colorado!
