  1. This is great. Two wonderful quotes: "an English Mass which is a cacophonous monstrosity" and "one of the great functions of the liturgy is to keep us in touch with the past and dead." Very sensible, indeed!

  3. Nice! Good old WH! Mind you, this was the man who told the New York Tolkien Society that their hero lived a in a "hideous" house with "hideous" pictures on the walls.
